In America, 96% of shoppers do their shopping online.

If you're one of those people, sometimes it can be easier to save money if you shop online.

Are you looking to save even more money when shopping online? Read this guide to learn how:

Double your coupons during a sale

If you have signed up to get coupons in the mail, don't use them as soon as you receive them.

Instead, wait until something goes on sale. Some items will go on sale one time a month, especially if a holiday is fast approaching.

You may be able to use those coupons combined with the sale price to get an even lower price. Try and add as many coupons or promo-codes as you can, and just watch your price continue to drop.

Sign up for our rebate service

This is one of the more important things to remember when learning how to save money while shopping online.

There are different services out there that will help you get some of your spent money back. A lot of these services are very easy to use and can save consumers so much money, for example RebateKey.

Use Google's shopping tab

If you search for the product you want to buy in Google, it will display a list of where that item can be purchased. It will list all of the available prices, so that you can see which is the cheapest.

There are other services you can use that will also compare prices, but Google also has an easy way to set alerts for different products. Google will let you know when a price on your tracked item changes, so that you always pay the lowest possible price.

Sign up for rewards and emails

Many people don't want their inbox flooded with emails about sales and special offers, but if you want to save money, this can be rewarding. If you want to, you can even set up a different account for this type of email, so they don't fill your regular inbox.

Most sites will give you a coupon to use when you first sign up. It is also helpful to know when to save these coupons for future use.

Create multiple emails

In conjunction with emails, you may want to make several different email accounts in order to receive your free coupons; however, don't go crazy and create hundreds of accounts, but having a few extra for that first sign-up bonus can't hurt.

Kohl's is one of the best stores to do this for because they will send you codes throughout the whole year. If you have more than one code, then you will be able to save even more.

Go ‘incognito’

Dynamic pricing is the theory that everything on the market can rise and fall in price, for example, airplane tickets during a holiday season.

Retailers use a lot of consumer information. If they see someone buying from them frequently, they will raise their prices because they think that that person will buy whatever is on their website, regardless of the price, just because he/she is a loyal customer.

You can get around this. Set your browser to incognito or private mode, and then make sure you clear your cache and cookies.

By doing this, when you go on a site, the retailer will think you are a new customer and will therefore more than likely offer you a lower price.

Check CamelCamelCamel

Amazon also uses dynamic pricing; however, a service called CamelCamelCamel monitors Amazon's prices. This site shows when the prices rise or fall, and here you can decide when is the best time to buy your item.

Buy online and pick up in store

Sometimes shipping can be extremely expensive for a small item.

If you have the time, and the retailer offers the option, you can always buy the item online and then pick it up in store.

This will save you money and time, especially if they offer you same-day pickup.

Sign up for store credit cards

Most retailers have their own credit card, and they also offer a discount for people who sign up for them.

If it is somewhere that you frequently shop, you may want to look into buying that credit card; however, you will need to keep track of which credit cards you have.

If you do this, you should make sure that you treat your credit card like a debit card, so that you don't accidentally end up in debt.

Just keep in mind that you are trying to save money, not spend it.

Check ‘Groupon’

Before you buy anything, make sure that you check Groupon. Here, you may find a better deal for the same item that you were just about to purchase.

Even if you don't find anything, sometimes it is worth checking, just to try to save that little bit extra.

Search for coupons online

Before considering using your coupons to make a purchase, you should check out Honey.

Honey is an add-on that you can add to your browser. This tool will search all of the coupon codes online and apply them to your order. This makes it much easier for you to find cheaper deals without having to go back and forth trying to apply codes that may not work.

If Honey can't find any coupons, it will let you know that you already have the best deal.
